Pilot Training and Flying Lessons

Frank Morgan School of Flying offers flying lessons and pilot training for a selection of licences that are recognised in the UK and internationally. Experience the freedom of being in control of an aircraft and learn to fly an aeroplane in a safe and friendly environment. You can purchase a single lesson or invest in one of our very competitively discounted packages.

The EASA Private Pilot Licence

Structured flight training, fully integrated with ground school sessions. The licence is internationally acceptable and will allow you to fly a light aircraft anywhere in the world.

The flight training syllabus requires you to undergo a minimum of 45 hours flight training. The minimum age to begin training for the EASA private pilot licence is 14 and for going solo is 16.

A licence will not be issued before the student reaches 17. No academic qualifications are required, however you will require a Class 2 medical certificate.

The EASA Light Aircraft Pilot's Licence

Structured flight training, fully integrated with ground school sessions. The licence will allow you to fly a light aircraft in EU airspace in good weather.

The training syllabus requires you to undergo a minimum of 30 hours flight training. The minimum age to begin training for the LAPL is 14 and for going solo is 16. A licence will not be issued before the student reaches 17.

No academic qualifications are required, however you will require a GP Medical Certificate signed by your own doctor, or a Class 1 or 2 certificate signed by an AME.

IMC Rating Pilot Training

The Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) rating will enable you to fly an aeroplane in UK airspace in poor weather with sole reference to the aeroplane's instruments.

IMC training is an invaluable skill as it opens up far more opportunities, allowing the pilot to fly in a wider range of weather conditions. Ideal for the UK.

Night Rating Training

A night rating is a very useful addition to the PPL which allows the pilot to fly after sunset and before sunrise. Night flying can be a fantastic experience and will, of course, increase your skills as a pilot.

Training requirement is 5 hours, including a navigation exercise out of the control zone. We night-fly right through the autumn and winter.
